Plymouth Banjul Rally This site gives the low down on this mad alternative to the Paris Dakar rally. 200 teams attempt to drive an assortment of cars from England, across the Saraha (well around the edge actually) to Banjul in Gambia for chaity.Team Arty Hearties. Rodney Watney and team have no money, no sence and no worries. Driving a 20 year old Mercedes with 250,000 miles on the clock they intend to leave Dover on Boxing Day and arrive in Banjul around the 16th January.
There they will hand over the keys of the car to the event organisers to be auctioned for charity. Follow them from London to Africa via Gibralta.
But don't forget it's all done for charity, so go to the web site and give generously.
